GLOSSY IBIS Plegadis falcinellus
The Glossy Ibis was a good distance away, and it is quite a small bird. I was surprised when I first spotted it. This image is from September 2025, the Ibis’s second visit to the reserve.
Glossy Ibis are becoming more common in the Uk but still regarded as scarce.

London Days Out
There are so many photo opportunities in London, people, animals, buildings, transport, flowers and plants, the river and objects. If I am on my own I tend to wander aimlessly and try to explore streets I have not been along before (I lived there for 12 years). However, for example, just on my last trip I found a hidden pub in the heart of Covent Garden that I did not know existed.
North Norfolk
Although I love walking/climbing mountains and hills one of my favourite places to walk is the beaches around the Brancaster/Wells area of Norfolk.
The Seven Sisters
Who needs to go to Cumbria, Wales or Scotland to climb mountains? You can do it on the south coast. I read about this walk in a walking magazine. So over the summer holidays 2011, decided to do it.
Week 28th January to 3rd February
bitter cold day especially when exposed to the wind, but, lots of sunshine. On route around the at St Marys pond were 2 GWE and a LE amongst the usual mix of waterfowl including big numbers of Shovellers.
Thoughts about Meta Verses etc.
These Blogs are a mixture of reality and non-reality, they contain some serious thought and some idle thinking….! Its up to you to decide which is which.

Snowdon
In effect you are starting at almost sea level and the walk is 6 km. After crossing the road you enter straight in a wooded area. The walk is pleasant and rising gently. If you turn and look back there are very pleasant views of the surrounding area.
